  • Bantayan Youth Camp

We are excited to be partnering with City Light Church for their youth camp for a couple of days here on Bantayan. We just finished the first evening together and tomorrow we will be there all day talking about being fishers of men.

  • Leyte

    Leyte

We took a couple days this week to explore the southern portion of Leyte Island to see about the potential of holding our upcoming Ministry Training Institute class there. We put many miles on the motorcycle, saw some beautiful sights, and had a productive trip. We were able to meet with the pastor who is our main contact to discuss the class more too. Along our journey we stopped at every church we could find to pass along info about who we are as an organization and invite them to join the class.

Our plan is to return to Leyte in a couple weeks to attend a pastors meeting and hope to make some good contacts there. Prayers for this new ministry location are appreciated!

Here’s a video of some of the travels…

  • The 7th inning…

We’re without Jesse and Chelsey but we’re still in the game! We’re preaching church, teaching pastors, giving away coffee and generally ministering with all we got.  So we’ll keep at all of this until someone comes to get us or tells us to come home…

  • Toledo Ministry

This week started with a trip across the island to the city of Toledo. Here, we hosted the final MTI in the “Genuine Disciple” series. We hope that the material covered in these MTIs will produce long-lasting fruit and bless those who have attended as well as their churches.

For pastors who have been active participants of these MTIs, Shofar Mission is now offering support and resources for starting local Bible studies, in hopes of increasing biblical maturity and fellowship in their communities and churches. We are looking forward to what God will do through this new ministry endeavor.

During the Toledo MTI, a couple people from the team paired up with Street Level Toledo members to do outreaches at one of the local universities. While they gave away coffee and iced tea, they were able to tell students about the weekly Bible study and make new connections.

Some of the team will be heading back to the States this week, while the remaining members will continue ministering in Cebu and Toledo. The next few weeks will be filled with a Pastoral Training Institute (PTI) class and more university ministry and outreach.
