Street Level News

This Friday (May 9) at 7PM at the Street Level Ministries Toledo Space we will be hosting an outdoor movie night! Free for students! Complete with hotdogs, fries, popcorn and plenty of sweets! You won’t want to miss it.

Recently some of our members took an opportunity to set up our booth at a large youth gathering to let students know about Street Level. The event was for youth all over Cebu island (and surrounding islands) and was two days long. We had a good time hanging out together at it, and made some good connections along the way. The main piece of information we gave away was a mini ‘zine, “A Compact Guide on How to Not Waste Your Life”.

Since there was a crew from the Toledo side of the island spending some time in Cebu, we took a bonus adventure to TOPS and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon together too! We definitely took a road less traveled to get there, but that was part of the fun.

Recently, both Cebu and Toledo SLM groups had an evening of Pictionary and hanging out together. We warmed up our creative skills by playing “Telephone Pictionary”, where a phrase turns into pictures, and back into phrases, and usually ends up entirely different from the beginning. A lot of laughs and “what is that supposed to be?!” were had.

Then came the main Pictionary event and the competition was fierce. The teams battled their way around the board, showing off their art skills (or lack of art skills) as their teams guessed what was being drawn.

And of course, there was plenty of pizza and snacks to be shared too! As an organization we have nights like this because it’s fun to spend time together, but also, it helps us build deeper relationships with the people we are growing our faith with. Stay tuned for more to come!
