What’s in a name?

New Names

You may have heard the words “Beginnings” or “Foundations” being thrown around in conversation lately and wondered what they are referring to. We are thrilled to announce that these are the new names for the Children’s Ministry rooms!

Beginnings

“Beginnings,” formerly called the Toddler Room, is a place for children ages 6 months through 4 years old. Here they learn basic truths about who God is through simple Bible stories with a flannel board.

Foundations

“Foundations,” formerly known as the Junior room, is for children ages 5-4th grade. These kids will have participation in the corporate church service for worship before being dismissed for class where they learn God’s redemptive story by studying the Bible chronologically.

While our names have changed, our mission remains the same –to be a supplement to the Bible teaching that children are already receiving at home. Our hope is that they will come to know and love Jesus and grow in a relationship with Him.

Other News

In other news, the toddlers have been doing a great job at memorizing the Bible! They recently finished learning Psalm 23. This month they just started learning the first verse of “The Armor of God” as found in Ephesians 6:13-18. To help the children memorize these verses, they receive a piece of magnetic armor with the month’s verse on it. They can take it home to place on a boy or girl magnetic figure. After 6 months when they have learned all 6 verses, they will have a magnetic boy/girl that is fully suited up with the armor of God. And hopefully they will also have “The Armor of God” Bible verses stored away in their hearts! Thanks to the Creative Team for designing logos for our new names and for making our “Armor of God” magnets!
